our mission

University lecturers from Berlin universities, as well as actors, directors and dramaturges from the fields of theatre, film and television teach at the berlin school for acting (bsfs). The focus of acting training is the methodical teaching of acting skills, based on an ethical attitude towards the role and profession. Based on the theater concepts of Max Reinhardt, Stanislawski and Bertolt Brecht, the bsfs has developed its own poetic-realistic method.

Our focus

Three fields of work determine the acting training:Lessons in acting and technical subjects.Interdisciplinary projects: speech training, music, dance, movementProductions on the studio stage and in this context larger projects in cooperation with other theaters. In addition, we teach theatrical presentation techniques in front of the camera and develop skills and abilities for dubbing and microphone speaking. Being an actor is both a profession and a calling, it is talent and work - especially on oneself.

Our chronicle

The bsfs in Berlin has existed for more than 30 years (founded in 1992). In the trendy Berlin district of Friedrichshain, the drama school is an indispensable treasure and a cultural highlight of the artistic scene. In 2017, office, rehearsal and training rooms with modern equipment were moved into in a typical Berlin factory building. In the immediate vicinity of the school there are restaurants, bars, galleries and hotels with perfect connections to public transport. The Frankfurter Allee, the Warsaw Bridge with the RAW site and the Simon Dach Straße are within walking distance. You can find more information about the history of the school in our chronicle.
